Lions Cruise At Home

BBL Championship

London Lions 86-70 Glasgow Rocks (25-17, 48-32, 70-50)

London Lions comfortably defended their home court with a 86-70 victory over Glasgow Rocks.

The Lions made a fast start and never once fell behind in the contest. Justin Robinson and Demonte Flannigan in particular connected early to announce the Lions intentions.

Flannigan’s early exploited frustrated Jaen Billups of the Rocks as Coach Karol’s side led 25-17 after the first quarter.

The second was equally assertive as Will Hall cameoed as did Brandon Peel, Gareth Murray tried to haul the visitors back and it was only a late 6-0 run to close to half time that kept them in touch, 48-32.

The Lions’ dominance on the glass was marked, Paul Guede grabbed 4 steals in the game and his strong third led to a 70-50 lead going into the final quarter.

The lead was never threatened as the Lions put nine players on the score sheet. Kieron Achara’s 14 points led the Rocks.

Lions Scorers - Robinson 26, Flannigan 18, Guede 11, Peel 9, Hall 8, Ikhinmwin 6, Isenbarger 4, Latinovic 2, Lanegger 2, Lockhart 0, Lashley, Roberts.

Rocks Scorers; Achara 14, Harrison, Fraser 10.

The Lions will be announcing their semi-final home date on Monday as well as when they will travel to face Manchester Giants in the BBL Trophy after the draw was made on Friday
